held on 29th April 2009
Committee Members Meeting held at Fomeside Medium Secure Unit, Bristol
1. Present: Dr Tim Amos, Dr Louise Robinson, Professor Pamela Taylor and Dr Lindsay Thomson.

3. FPRS Membership
Papers B and C on membership and payment were reviewed. The following was agreed:
  1. Membership should be promoted to all Specialist Trainees. The Specialist Trainees have a Yahoo email group. This should be agreed with Ramneesh Puri, the SpR conference organiser in Newcastle for November 2009. A letter promoting membership will be sent to all Specialist Trainees and each FPRS meeting should subsequently be notified to Specialist Trainees via this route.
    Action:
    1. LR to establish this system and agree it with Dr Puri.
    2. LR to draft letter promoting membership using current FPRS leaflet and send out via SMcL.
    3. SMcL to send subsequent meeting details to this Yahoo group
  2. Target letter to be sent to all forensic academics re: payment for membership -Tim Amos
4. Committee Membership
Tim Amos and Seena Fazel will take over respectively as President and Treasurer from September 2009.

6. Future Programme
  1. The Committee was delighted to note that Dr Gill Mezey has agreed to host the FPRS meeting in London in November 2009
    Action: LT to request date and programme from Gill by end June 2009. Publicise August 2009. Venue either with local service or at Royal College of Psychiatrists - book board room provisionally
  2. Professor Connor Duggan has agreed to host meeting in Leicester, Spring 2010
    Action: Tim Amos will liaise with Professor Duggan regarding this.
7. Promotion of Research Skills Workshop
It was agreed that we would request a Forensic Faculty Conference slot once more and hold a research session in this. Discussion of a research skills workshop will be held there. Existing material, for example from Cardiff University, can be utilised.
Action: LT to email conference organiser, Tom Fahy, regarding a conference slot.
8. Royal College of Psychiatrist Website
Action: LT to complete academic section
9. Co-option of the Chair of FPRS onto Forensic Faculty
We were joined by Dr Janet Parrott for this discussion. This will be discussed at the Forensic Faculty Executive in 2 weeks time and has been placed on the agenda. Options for this include:
  1. Co-option of Chair of FPRS
  2. Annual slot on Forensic Faculty Executive agenda for FPRS and research and attendance at Executive Strategy day
  3. Co-option of FPRS Chair onto Education Group
Dr Parrott was extremely supportive of the research agenda and will feedback on the outcome of the Forensic Faculty Executive meeting.
