The Royal College of Psychiatrists Education and Training Centre
is organising a one day conference on Suicide in Prison: prevention and protection.

The keynote speaker is Mr Stephen Shaw, Prisons and Probation Ombudsman and the day will be chaired by Professor Pamela Taylor.
This conference brings together experts in the field to consider how to improve prevention of self-inflicted death and injury in prisons and enhance effective support for all those who have to cope with the tragedy when it occurs.
Through a combination of presentations and workshops, you will learn about:

• the up-to-date facts about prison suicide
• risk factors doe suicide in prison
• the College?s current position on preventing suicide in prisons
• support strategies for staff to maintain their maximum effectiveness
• latest research
